De'Ron Smith took his first drink at the age of seven. He did his first line of cocaine at the age of thirteen. By the time he became a young man, Smith was addicted to drugs and hanging out at Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine. He eventually kicked the habit, but turned to dealing drugs as a way to make money.
