Avondale tenants who were protesting last night as a result of the week-long power outages can get back to life as normal as Duke Energy reportedly restores gas and electric to the forty-six families in three apartment buildings on Harvey Avenue.

More than 150 Avondale residents were still without power and water as of this morning. As we reported earlier, residents and organizations like the NAACP began demanding Duke Energy take immediate action during last night’s protest. News of the community’s cry of distress has Duke saying they are doing everything they can to resolve the issues between the tenants and their landlord, Joseph Lantini.

Joseph Lantini, reportedly owes Duke Energy approximately $70,000.
