A woman in Arizona has been killed by a self-driving car. The car, operated by Uber, was operating in autonomous mode with a human driver behind the wheel when the woman was struck. It is reported that the woman was walking outside of a crosswalk when she was struck. This is believed to be the first time that a self-driving vehicle has killed a pedestrian. Uber has suspended its self driving vehicle testing and is cooperating with authorities and investigators. Uber has been testing in San Francisco, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Phoenix for months.
