If you’ve been following the news lately, you know there’s a tough group of tenants in Avondale who endured nearly a week of power outages before winning yet another fight. Members and supporters of the forty-six families affected by the power outages gathered once again, but this time in court as they tried to get back to life as normal under new management.

As we reported earlier this week, Duke Energy reportedly restored gas and electric to the 150-plus group of tenants’ homes in Avondale on Tuesday morning.

Today, Common Pleas Judge John West has officially agreed to an emergency order to appoint a receiver who will immediately take over building management from an owner who hasn’t paid utility or water bills since last year for the three Avondale apartment buildings on Harvey Avenue.
