While much of America was busy watching President Obama‘s fourth State of the Union, or the police standoff between the police and Chris Dorner, teenager Leonard Cooper was busy winning the “Teen Jeopardy!” finals in perhaps the best way ever.
During the “Final Jeopardy” segment, Trebek read the clue to the contestants, which was:
“On June 6, 1944, he said, ‘The eyes of the world are upon you’.”
$75,000 was the guaranteed jackpot for the teen who finished in first place. The first contestant got it right, and his winnings shot up.
Everyone thought he would win, because the next contestant got it wrong. No one, however, expected the response Leonard Cooper would give. His response? It was, “Who is… some guy in Normandy. But I just won $75,000!”.
Turned out Leonard had the most winnings, and was given the $75,000.
Good job Leonard!
