What are your children learning in school these days? Some of them, like the high school students from the Warren County Career Center, will be following the courts and the legal action surrounding the ongoing trials in the Ryan Widmer case. They’ve actually already begun to follow the case and even had an opportunity to sit in on the trials of Widmer, whom we all know at this point was accused in the 2008 death of his wife Sarah Widmer at their home near Mason.

Mr. Widmer was found guilty last year but a judge set aside the rulings following allegations of misconduct within the jury resulting in a second trial. From there, the new trial was cut short and Widmer now actually remains innocent until proven guilty due to a hung jury.

We’ve asked you what you all felt about the case a few times. To catch up the story and our updates on the trials, click the following link and check out what everyone else has to say.

Jury Hun in Widmer Retrial

We Want You on the Jury

But in the meantime, another question has come up for many of our readers and on-air listeners today. Parents do you approve of this educational method? Do you think the students attending the trials and covering the process will actually learn from such a high profile case? What tactics do you believe are in place to teach future lawyers, judges and prosecutors by allowing them to participate in such a capacity? Let us know how you feel by posting your thoughts in the comments section below.

For more information on the story and to check out what else the student will be doing to chronicle the trials, visit WLWT.com today.

Will you be watching just as closely, too? Share your thoughts by posting in the comments section below. We want to hear from you about what you think.
