I heard the Billboard Music Awards was going to honor my girl, Whitney Houston- so I made myself sit through the broadcast. Whoopi Goldberg had the honor of announcing the artists who would sing some classic Whitney Houston songs. I don’t know about anyone else but when I saw the one-note singing John Legend, I was disappointed; even though Jordan Sparks did an okay rendition of ” I Will Always Love You” the segment was disappointing. I did cry through the entire segment watching Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Two songs- that’s it. How do you honor an icon like Whitney Houston with non-singing John Legend?
Was anyone else as disappointed or did you watch? And are the artists getting lame or am I out of touch?
