Good afternoon friends and family! I’m writing this afternoon to give you a glimpse of this weekend’s special events and activities. 1230AM WDBZ and our sister station MOJO 100.3 have tons of great events you can partake in right along with me, your friend and on-air personality, P. Ann Everson-Price. So grab those pens and pads to mark your calendars because here is what’s coming if you’re looking for something special to do this weekend.
Before I get into all of that, I want to send out a very special “thank you” and a good “God bless you” to everyone who participated with us during last weekend’s Taste of Cincinnati. The MOJO & WDBZ Mass Choir did an outstanding job and as you already know, the choir will be presenting their praise before the Lord once again this Sunday evening (June 6th) beginning at 7:30PM at the Bibleway Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Ok, so onto the juicy stuff. As many of you might know, Bibleway’s pastor, Bishop Abraham Isaac Jacob Swanson XII is recognized for his early days conducting tent services and radio broadcasts way back in the 1950s. He’s also my mentor, my first pastor and was the host of the original “Praise Party.” I recall family and friends from the neighborhood would gather around the radio to hear his live broadcasts on Sunday evenings where you could catch up other personalities and guest musicians from around the country like Billy Preston.
It’s actually been over 20 years since myself and my three sisters have sang together at Bibleway so this weekend will be a reunion of sorts. That’s why I want you to join us. You’ll all be able to see myself, your favorite ‘Gospel Diva’ along with the Cincinnati Super Choir plus the smooth sounds of 2nd Wind & Friends do their thing onstage. Also joining us will be Ryan Wynne, a beautiful mime ministry you won’t want to miss and a plethora of some of the most dynamic musicians in the region. Come on out Cincinnati, we want to see you there.
