Today’s gospel music news update heads in a new direction as we hear our main man and Reach Records recording artist LeCrae is continuing his highly publicized streak of success in the industry. This brother is lifting up the blood-stained banner and gaining ground as he goes making Holy Hip Hop history with the release of his latest full length album Rehab.
The new release reportedly sold just over 27,000 units in its first week making it the largest selling first week for a Holy Hip Hop release ever. Can you believe it? The numbers speak volumes, don’t they? That’s yet another reason why we need to continue supporting and purchasing gospel music in all of its formats.
Consequently, the album debuted atop the Billboard Top Gospel Charts, Top Christian Albums Charts and the Independent Albums Charts. In addition, LeCrae’s new album snagged the #5 spot on the Top Rap Albums Charts, #6 on the Digital Albums Charts and landed at#17 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Charts.
Go get yours LeCrae! We also hear via Twitter that his current “Unashamed” tour has just sold out in Atlanta so hurry up and get your tickets for a show in your neck of the woods when LeCrae visits.
