American Airlines is being accused of discrimination against a Black man. The man says he was traveling first class when he was seated next to a woman traveling with her “support dog”. The man, Dana Holcomb, is allergic to dogs and he says he had an allergic reaction to the dog.
According to reports, the crew asked people if they would change seats with the passengers but no one would. Holcomb was informed that he would have to go to the back of the plane or get off the plane. Holcomb alleges he was told that he could do it the easy way or the hard way.
Holcomb was eventually removed from the plane without his luggage or medication and left at the airport.
American Airlines says they have to accommodate support animals and Mr. Holcomb was offered another seat and a refund of the price difference. They say the Black man was not satisfied with their solutions so they removed him from the flight.
I’m sure the dog was happy with the extra leg room.
