Nike, the shoe company and NFL sponsor has released a statement in support of players rights to protest. Nike says in its statement: “Nike supports athletes and their right to freedom of expression on issues that are of great importance to our society.” They have gotten support on social media as well as criticism. Some have even threatened to boycott the shoe giant for their stance.
