Lily Ledbetter worked for a tire manufacturing company in Gadsen Alabama for 19 years. One day, at her workplace, she found out she was being paid 40% less than her male counterparts.

She fought a nine year battle, with her argument going to the supreme court. The supreme court ruled in favor of her company, but Ledbetter found an ally in Justice Ginsburg. With her help, congress passed a law called the “Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act”.

Ledbetter called into “Sister Speak”, yesterday, to talk with Jeri and girls about her story, this week’s presidential debates, and how Obama will help women in his next term. In case you missed it, you can listen to the interview below.
