Last Spring, during the Miss U.S.A. Pagent, contestant judge Perez Hilton asked the former Miss California a question regarding gay marriage. This was Carrie Prejean’s response :
Her answer, which others including Donald Trump thought she was stating her beliefs, created a huge national debate about same-sex marriage. Carrie received a lot of support from not only Donald Trump, but also San Fransisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who is a prominent supporter of same-sex marriage. Carrie opened up on her christian beliefs, spoke at Christian universities, and presented gospel music awards.
However, as time passed, more details about the former Miss California were revealed. When she was asked about her breast implants, she said they were Christian-Friendly (via: Huffington Post). When nude photos and reports of a “sex tape” were revealed, this was her response:
I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. In June she was stripped of her Miss California crown. Since then she has still gone public about her Christianity and has gone on commercials opposing same-sex marraige. She recently released a book called, “Still Standing”, which she talks about the smears against her.
My question to you guys is this : Does Carrie Prejean practices what she preaches? Do you also believe she should be forgiven for her past mistakes?
