There is a new letter, supposedly sent by a Zimmerman family member addressed to Sanford’s local NAACP, that is being widely viewed on the internet.
Yesterday, The Daily Caller released a letter of a Zimmerman family member, slamming local president Turner Clayton for rushing to judgement of George Zimmerman.
In the letter, the member accuses the organization and its supporters of labeling George Zimmerman as a “racist” and a “bigot”. The member claims that George has been found “guilty” in the court of public opinion and the truth hasn’t been told yet. The member also accuses the NAACP of racism, stating
It’s time for you to end the race issue in this matter and call for cooler heads to prevail. If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization of George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgment. You need to call off the dogs. Period. Publicly and swiftly.
The family member did not specify their name, but the signature of the letter wrote “A concerned Zimmerman Family Member”
