After going through budget cuts and setbacks, city council has found a way to expand their anti-violence group again. Council-members will be adding six more staff positions to its Cincinnati Initiative To Reduce Violence group, or “CIRV”.
CIRV is an organization designed to help reduce gun-violence and associated homicides. It does so through community outreach, advocacy, and counseling in dangerous neighborhoods. With more staff members, Councilman Cecil Thomas believes more neighborhoods will get the help they need to reduce violence in their area.
