This may be the result, if Cincinnati City Council and Duke Energy settle with negotiations. Yesterday, it was reported there is progress between the two sides on relocating utility lines for the streetcar project. They’ve whittled down the costs and the safety issues for the groundwork.
Here’s the catch, Duke Energy wants utility regulators to allow the company to raise rates, so that they can cover the costs. According to reports, the cost to relocate the utility lines costs $12 million. Duke Energy is stating that their customers shouldn’t foot the bill, but the city should.
