(via contactmusic.com) – MARVIN SEASE, the soul-blues singer best known for his popular track ‘Candy Licker’, has died in Vicksburg, Massachusetts, aged 64.

MARVIN SEASE, the South Carolina-born singer who released his last album in 2008, has died after reportedly losing his battle with pneumonia, according to Variety. Sease initially began his career in gospel and formed a group with his three brothers. He later abandoned the genre and moved into R&B, releasing a self-titled album on his own ‘Early’ label. The record included the hit track ‘Ghetto Man’ and its success led to Sease being signed by London/Mercury in 1987 and the album being re-released. The new version included a 10-minute track entitled ‘Candy Licker’, which became Sease’s signature song. The track was a smash-hit and the singer eventually took the title as his own nickname.
