Buzz listeners weighed in yesterday on the comments made by Judge James Flannery during the sentencing of Marcus Israel. Judge Flannery told Marcus Israel “you were so lucky early that morning that you weren’t executed.” Flannery added “There was a time in this country, maybe 50 or 60 years ago, when a black man who killed a white police officer could never have gone to trial. Fortunately those days are permanently behind us.”
