MILWAUKEE, Wi. — A group of African-American firefighters has joined forces with local politicians and the NAACP to challenge a state law that would end the resident requirement.

The group, called the Brotherhood of Firefighters, says if the firefighters are being paid to work for the city of Milwaukee then they should also be required to live there.

The law has won support from the firefighters union, who argue that its members should have the right to live where they want.
