NEWSFLASH——–NEWSFLASH———-NEWSFLASH

To the 1230AM WDBZ The Buzz listeners, viewers and supporters you guys are all in for a treat. Yesterday afternoon, Faith Daniels at our sister station MOJO 100.3 spoke with Joe Santangelo, the Macy’s Music Festival producer to break some good and bad news to us with details on the change in the Macy’s Music Festival list of scheduled performers for Saturday, July 31st.

Apparently, Jill Scott‘s management has contacted festival organizers and stated that Jilly from Philly is really going through a very tough time with very close family members who are very ill. So, ill in fact, Jill will not be able to perform at the annual Macy’s Music Festival this year. We’re all sending positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes to Jill and her family in light of the situation.

With the festival goers’ love for neo-soul music in mind, Joe Santangelo set out on a mission to find an artist to perform in the now vacant slot on Saturday night. Just after after 10:00PM Tuesday night, confirmation was received that the one and only ERYKAH BADU will be performing on Saturday, July 31st at the 2010 Macy’s Music Festival!

Now how’s that for a replacement act? We love Erykah Badu ’round here so we want you to know first that she’s coming to town – full band, full on live performance and full of everything Ms. Badu embodies onstage. Let’s get ready to party!

If you’re interested in winning tickets, do us a favor and periodically listen to MOJO 100.3 on Thursday, July 15th for a Big Ticket Thursday where they’ll be giving away Saturday night tickets every hour! Stay tuned to find out if and when 1230AM WDBZ The Buzz will join the celebration by giving away tickets to this year’s Macy’s Music Festival.
