Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was at Praise 102.5 this week and discussed how she felt about the memorial being built for her father on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial is scheduled to finally open this August and the King family will be taking part in ceremonies surrounding the grand opening. Bernice explained that the King memorial is the first monument on the National Mall dedicated to an African-American.

She also urged people to visit the King Center in Atlanta.

“Probably most important for me is that generations yet unborn will know of Dr. King,” she explained.
