Exclusive details are pouring into our emails and inboxes this afternoon as reports of former University of Texas football player and 27-year-old current Cincinnati Bengals running back has been arrested and charged with assault with injury today after a recent altercation.

Last month, the football star was involved in an incident at Annie’s West at 706 West Sixth Street in downtown Austin, TX where official reports are stating her punched a bar employee in the face. After the altercation, Benson continued to shove other employees as he was escorted out of the bar according to the details given in an arrest affidavit. The affidavit also includes reports that Benson spit blood from his injured lip at a bar employee.

As of today, Benson has posted bail and has been released from the Travis County Jail, but if convicted on the Class A misdemeanor, Benson could face up to one year behind bars. For additional coverage, check out the reports at Statesman.com and tell us what you think of the news.
