Local police officers are hoping that a recent band of arrests will provide clues and answers to a variety of questions revolving around quite a few violent crimes in Cincinnati.

On Tuesday, officers arrested a total of 17 suspected members of the Tot Lot Posse gang. Each of the suspects (and about 10 others who are still being sought after) are said to be involved in numerous cold cases of violent crime in the West End.

The Cincinnati Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives all were a part of yesterday’s massive arrests. Parts of Hamilton County were targeted including North College Hill, Mount Airy, Cheviot, Westwood and the West End.

Multiple members were arrested on murder and weapons counts linked to approximately nine open murder cases in the area. Forty-one weapons were also seized during yesterday’s multi-layered investigation.

Officers say the individuals who were arrested are now in various holding facilities as they are questioned and interrogated about their apparent links to the murder cases. Do you think this method will work? What else should be done to find the right people behind each of the murder cases that are still open?
