As the week comes to a close, the fate of recent Times Square bomb suspect Faisal Shahzad hangs in the balance as a federal grand jury in New York reportedly indicted the Shahzad in the bombing attempt on 10 counts.

Times Square bomb suspect Faisal Shahzad was recently indicted on 10 counts, many of which bring mandatory life sentences.

Shahzad faces charges of conspiracy in addition to an attempt to use a weapon of mass destruction. The 30-year-old faces these and eight other counts, six of which carry a maximum life sentence if convicted. Two counts which also include an attempt to commit international terrorism among others bring a mandatory life sentence.

Shahzad’s attempt to set off a vehicle bomb in the middle of Times Square just over two months ago on May 1st is what started it all. Two days later he was arrested and is expected to be arraigned on Monday, according to statements from the Justice Department.
