Ok, so just last week we told you about prophetess Juanita Bynum‘s return to the gospel scene with her brand new album More Passion in addition to the news of her recent music plans and new business ventures with Mathew Knowles, the visionary behind Music World Entertainment.

Today, there’s more gospel music news to be shared on the topic. It looks like worship leader and Stellar Award nominee Micah Stampley has also signed a management and recording joint venture with Music World Entertainment‘s faith-based label Spirit Rising Music. He’s been the man responsible for bringing back the “War Cry” and he’s the young man behind the voice that reaches far into the rafters. With soaring vocals layered over intimate worship numbers and intense praise jams sprinkled in between, Micah Stampley gives tenors like Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp and Smokie Norful all a run for their money.

Stampley’s 2005 debut release, The Songbook of Micah was the second highest debut for a male gospel artist in Billboard history, entering at #3 on the Top Gospel Charts. The producer and psalmist joins Brian Courtney WilsonTrin-i-tee 5:7 and now Juanita Bynum as part of the Spirit Rising family. Stampley’s new album is due to appear in stores later this year.

So are you surprised at the latest gospel music news? I’m sure these new members of the Spirit Rising family have done their research before jumping into business relationships with Knowles so let’s just sit back and watch all of this unfold.

I’m excited to hear new music from our brother Micah Stampley. I’m a fan of the brother’s range, but haven’t been a huge supporter of the songwriting. I guess I’m still waiting for that one record that defines or launches Stampley’s next project into orbit. What do you think? Any Micah Stampley fans out there?
