Last month, travelers from all over the country were informed of the new mandate proposed by some of the top airlines with a declaration to eliminate additional carry-on luggage fees at baggage claim, but this morning and fresh off the weekend we’re hearing reports that two top contenders – United and Continental Airlines – have decided to join forces and team up to become the world’s largest airline in a new deal estimated at over $3 billion.

But what does this mean for the costs of flights and the anticipated revenue for the airlines? Who will now be in control and does this affect your pockets and ours? Is this all a good idea? Read more on the new airline merger by clicking on the links below then tell us what you think of the news and reports since it will obviously impact your plans to fly the friendly skies this year.
