Tons of successful black women are faced everyday with the never ending search for an equally successful black man and vice versa.

This week on ABCs “Nightline,” a few of black America’s well-known celebrity personalities gathered to continue and examine the discussion of how this is affecting the black family structure and what is being done to help both parties involved in the dating process within the African American community.

According to statistics announced during the discussion, by age 30 only 50 percent of black women will have tied the knot. Researchers also say black women in enrolled in colleges across the nation outnumber the black men enrolled in colleges two to one.

Do you believe these statistics are accurate and relevant factors on your quest to find a candidate for love, relationships and marriage?

We’ve heard about women having standards that are too high and men who need to step up to the plate, but what are we doing to procreate young men and women who will fit the bill we say is necessary for black families to become stronger?

What values are we upholding or striving to reinforce in our community that mirrors the future of this dating deficit?

Check out more of the dating dialogue between comedienne and “The View” co-host Sherri Shepher, comedian/actor/radio personality Steve Harvey, author Hill Harper, television and radio personality Jacque Reid and reporter/culture critic Jimi Izrael.

The conversations on cheating, dating practices and preferences and relationships in our community were indeed comical, but tell us what you agreed and disagreed with by posting your comments below.
