ILLINOIS — Preliminary results from the Chicago mayor’s race show Rahm Emanuel with a decisive lead over his opponents, but the results are not certain until votes are fully counted. Chicago polling stations closed at seven this evening.

Fox News reports:

With 75 percent of precincts reporting, Emanuel had more than 54 percent of the vote. Former Chicago schools president Gery Chico had 25 percent, City Clerk Miguel del Valle had 9 percent and former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun had 8.6 percent.

Of the other two candidates in the race, Patricia Van Pelt Watkins had 1.5 percent, and William “Dock” Walls had less than 1 percent.
