Just one day after Jay Leno loses his longtime bandleader Kevin Eubanks, the late night television host has already completed the selection of the new replacement: “American Idol” music director Rickey Minor.

Minor, who’s thrilled audiences and steared some of the hottest bands and singers in the right direction, is no stranger to the entertainment business. The Emmy-nominated music director of “American Idol” already has an impressive resume including his genius work on several concert tours featuring divas Whitney Houston, Beyonce and Alicia Keys as well as on a variety of television productions like the Grammy Awards, the NAACP Image Awards and the Super Bowl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, noted maestro Rickey Minor is scheduled to make his “Tonight Show” debut this summer – possibly even as early as the finale of the current “American Idol” season.
