Today marks the second day of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration honoring universal African-American heritage and culture. Each day a different principal is observed. Yesterday was the observance of Umoja, to strive for and to maintain unity in the family. Today the principal of Kujichagulia, which is Swahili for Self-Determination, is observed.
