Updated: Feb 11, 2010 7:19 AM EST CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Road crews are working around the clock to clear streets across the tri-state, but many side streets are still covered with snow.

As you can imagine, tri-state snow plow crews say their workload is enormous – wind, blowing snow and miles and miles of streets have to be cleared.

So a little patience should be expected – maybe?

“We still haven’t seen a snow plow since Saturday night, when it snowed this weekend and as you can see looking at the alley and looking out (there), we haven’t seen one yet, I have no problem shoveling my own driveway, my own stairs but I haven’t been able to get out in two days the alley’s the streets they are just awful,” said Lindsay McCarren, a City West resident.

“Yeah, it’s been this way for at least a few days, when it first started snowing, hopefully they will get to our streets,” said Lorita Wilcher, another City West resident.

People living in Cincinnati’s West End, just five blocks from City Hal, say their snow plow patience has ended.

“Well it’s pretty inconvenient, we come out here and you expect to have a clear path to get to the main roads which have been plowed but we’ll have to deal with it as best we can,” said Wilcher.

If you’re wondering, they’re dealing with about eight-inches of a heavy, wet wintry mix.

“I’ve lived here for five and a half years and it’s always been this way,” said McCarren. “The first year the streets weren’t fully dedicated so they couldn’t get the plows down but after that I’m not really sure are we not on their list.”

City officials say they will get to every side street as soon as they can. Crews say they expect road clearing in general to take several days.
