Top 10 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Police Department and Chief Teresa Theetge released & presented the final crime analytics reported for 2024 to city council members. According to WKRC, CPD reported a 4% increase in violent crime, with robberies involving young people rising by 10%.
Criminal shooting victims dropped from 379 to 355; the number of youth shooting victims also decreased significantly from 68 in 2023 to 45. Over-the-Rhine recorded 39 shooting victims, matching its three-year average. The West End area declined from 41 to 30. Meanwhile, Avondale and Winton Hills saw increases in shootings with Avondale going from 21 to 34 and Winton from 17 to 24.

Gun thefts from vehicles remain a major concern, with nearly 300 firearms stolen—though this is down from 344 in 2023.
Despite the decline in youth shooting victims, teen involvement in robberies is rising, especially in Districts Three (Westside) and Four (Avondale/Roselawn). Calls for service involving youth have increased at metro transit centers and near CPS locations. Government Square experienced an 86% rise and Taft High School saw a 46% increase.
Chief Theetge also noted that some parents are escalating conflicts instead of helping to prevent them.
“That’s what a lot of our youth services officers, our school resource officers, are dealing with right now. It isn’t just telling the kids not to fight; now we have to tell the parents, ‘Don’t come in here and try to start a fight between the kids.’”
