Sitting at a long conference table Ohio’s John Boehner told reporters he’s “humbled by the trust that the American people have placed on us.” Boehner alongside Rep. Eric Cantor, is expected to move up to majority leader.

As a strong opponent of Obama and his polices that have stabilized the economy and provided health care for millions of Americans, Boehner claims the election is a “mandate for Washington to reduce spending.”

“It’s pretty clear that the Obama/Pelosi agenda is being rejected by the American people,” he said. Boehner, of West Chester, won his 11th term last night along with a net of nearly 60 GOP seats in the House, including several in Ohio.

Republicans 39 seats were all that were need to replace Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and take control. The Republicans claim they will make decisions in coming months about what budget cuts to seek most likely education and how to repeal the health care reform law.
