It is with great sadness to announce that Baltimore and the Radio One family has suffered a great loss, Mike Roberts. Mike has been part of the Radio One family for nearly 30 years. He was most recently the Station Coordinator for WOLB 1010 AM and Spirit 1400. He could also be heard on-air on weekends on Magic 95.9. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mike Roberts.
Radio One Baltimore’s General Manager Howard Mazer had this to say about Mike Roberts —
“We will miss Mike’s smiling face and great stories from his radio career. Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Operations Manager of Radio One Baltimore Al Payne had this to say about Mike Roberts —
“We are all saddened by this loss. Mike was a part of the backbone of our cluster of stations. He was a dedicated radio pro, husband and father. He loved Baltimore and served the community for many years.”
Magic 95.9‘s Tim Watts had this to say about his dear friend Mike Roberts —
“We lost one of the great ones today. His real name was Samuel Anderson, known to the radio world as Mike Roberts. Mike worked in radio for about 30 years. Some of the time he was a “behind the scenes” type. Most recently he was the coordinator for our AM stations here at Radio One Baltimore. Plus he could hold down an on-air shift with the best of them whenever one of us could not. R.I.P. MIKE.”
