According to realitytvmagazine.com, America’s Next Top Model founder/star Tyra Banks is being sued for her involvement with a minor on her talk show, The Tyra Banks Show.

The Hollywood Reporter is also reporting that the mother of a 15-year-old self-proclaimed “sex addict” is suing Warner Bros. Entertainment, Tyra Banks and executive producers of her talk show for $3 million, $1 million in compensatory damages and $2 million in punitive damages for featuring her child on television without consent.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals the court paper filing and state that Beverly, McClendon, a resident of Georgia, filed the complain in an Atlanta federal court last week.  The complaint states that her daughter supposedly went behind her back and flew to New York to appear on Tyra.

The complaint explains that in October 2009, the Tyra Banks Show put out an open call on its website for sex addicts.  McClendon’s 15 year old daughter, Jewel Ciera Washington, responded and claimed to be a sex addict to appear on the show.

The complaint contends that in order to employ her child, who is a minor, producers needed to obtain written consent in order to fly her to New York, lodge her alone in a hotel room, and appear on television.  McClendon is contending that the show did not do this and that the producers did not properly do its homework on who appeared on the show.

There has been no comment from Warner Brothers Televsion, who produces the Tyra Banks show.  There has also been no comment from Tyra Banks or her show.  Tyra recently made headlines when she apologized for a controversial promo of America’s Next Top Model.

Who’s really at fault here the network or the child’s parents? Please leave comments below.
