Cincinnati city council has voted to approve the West End stadium deal for FC Cincinnati.
In a five to four vote, council has voted to approve a $34.8 million infrastructure package that will help the soccer team build a 21,000 seat stadium. Those who voted yes included Chris Smitherman, Amy Murray, Jeff Pastor, PG Sittenfeld, and David Mann.
Those who voted against it include Chris Seelbach, Wendell Young, Tamaya Dennard, and Greg Landsman.
It is said, but not guaranteed, that a new stadium would clear the way for FC Cincinnati to be an expansion franchise for Major League Soccer.
