King Records building will not be destroyed for at least another 6 months as the hearing on it’s fate was delayed today. Aug. 27 is the rescheduled date and hopes are that an agreement will be made by then to preserve the site. Iconic Legends like Redd Foxx, Bootsy Collins, Hank Ballard and of course James Brown recorded there
The city offered $220,000 to purchase the building to restore the recording studio and construct a museum . King Records was the sixth-largest record company in the country during the 1940s and 1950s.
