We are mere days away from 2017. This is cause of celebration for many people, but some of us have been so worn down by the problems that pervaded 2016, that we’ve given up on looking to the future with faith.
But in order to receive all God has for you in the coming year, you must believe for greater things. Here are 5 scriptures to bolster your faith going into 2017.
#1 Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)- “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Even when God’s hand in your life becomes hard to see, you must have faith! Remember that all things work together for the good of the one who believes in the Lord (Romans 8:28).
#2 Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)- “But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” You can’t hope for blessings without believing in the One who gives them out. Furthermore, have faith that God’s perfect will, will be accomplished and that the coming year will be better than the last.
#3 James 1:6-8 (ESV)- “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” When you ask the Lord for something, whatever it may be, believe that He will give you what you asked for. You can’t believe for a blessing while simultaneously doubting that it will happen. The wind of doubt will not be able to knock you down if your faith is founded on the Rock.
