If this story doesn’t urge you to go out and vote nothing will. A 107-year-old woman, daughter of former slaves, Donella Wilson has gone out to cast her vote.
Wilson first cast her vote in the 1940’s and has never missed a local or national election. Despite right-wing voting laws trying to make it harder for minorities to make their voices heard.
“We couldn’t spell vote,” Wilson said. “We didn’t know what the word meant other that we had an opportunity to say something and cast a vote, praying as we go along that the vote could count to help us as a Negro race.”
As for this election, she is ready to make history by voting to make Hillary Clinton the first woman president.
“I’m looking for her to be our first female president,” she said. “I think it’s an honor, a precious gift from God.”
