Kirk Franklin‘s been catching heat lately for working with artists like Kanye West, but the opposition is nothing new for Franklin. Back in the 90s he worked with Salt-N-Pepa, R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige. Most recently, Chance the Rapper. But does working with these hip-hop and R&B artists really take away from his credibility or faith? Not at all…

“Who’s to say that someone is so far that God love’s can’t grab them where they are?” he said in a mini documentary on MTV News Live. “We can’t go get them because we don’t want to leave the rules or porch of the church?”
