Though she spoke in an uncharacteristic soft, raspy voice, that larger than life personality and smile was unmistakably Vicki Winans. Thursday, she took to social media to assure her fans and supporters that she was doing well. During the last couple of years, she found herself in the middle of a few storms. From injuries, to lawsuits, to surgery on her vocal cords (what no singer wants to endure), she pressed through and is ready to return to the stage.

“The devil tried to kill me,” she exclaimed, “but I ain’t going no where.” According to videos she posted on her Instagram page, she is just ending complete vocal rest and talking again. The dedicated singer she is, she sang right up until the day before her surgery. Clearly not 100%, Winans said fans were concerned and contacted her to offer prayers. Now recovering, she expects to make her first public appearance in two weeks with the American Heart Association. She posted:

“THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS! A “Where I’ve been video!” Y’all I have been through so much over the last 2 years! From my shoulder and dental surgery where a hotel chandelier fell on me, to a vicious struggle with my vocal chords, I am back and better than all ever! I’m so sorry for the shows that I’ve had to cancel or reschedule this year due to one or the other incidents going on with my body and thanks for your understanding and all your love and compassion shown to me! I was trying my best to fit everybody’s show in (against my doctor’s orders)! I was really suffering, you have no idea! Can y’all believe I actually sang right up until the night before I took a 5:30 am flight from Buffalo to Detroit that next morning after 3 shows in 3 different cities? I drove myself straight to the hospital from the airport and was in vocal surgery by 10:00 that same morning🙄! I am always doing the most! Hopefully these two video clips will let those that I did share what I was going through know that God has tuned me up and I have a brand new set of pipes to put some more miles on!💃🏼 THE SURGERY WENT PERFECT…THANK YOU JESUS!THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR LOVE, PRAYERS AND SUPPORT! I have 3 shows at the end of this month and I’ll be on my way! I did have the hospital video the surgery on August 22 (why were they so happy to do it for me)?😂😷 I know I will be needing it to teach or reach sooner or later! Some of you all saw me struggling through my shows and contacted me with concern! Thanks for not assuming the worst for me! I love you so much! Blessings!😘

We continue to pray for her complete healing and a vocal wholeness.
