Sometimes a fan can actually take their love and adoration for a superstar just way too far. Check out the story of a man who’s been popping up all over the place looking for global pop star Madonna – even on her doorstep.

Reportedly, 59-year-old retired FDNY firefighter Robert Linhart was found lurking around Madonna’s residence in the Central Park West area of NYC on Tuesday. When arrested, he exclaimed, “I won’t stop until I actually meet Madonna.” Linhart has now been arraigned on charges of criminal mischief, graffiti and possession of a homemade, 7-1/2-inch ice pick and was also called “a danger to the public.”

Manhattan Criminal Court’s Judge Frank Nervo set bail at $20,000 yesterday – double what prosecutors asked for – in an effort to keep this crazed fella away from Madonna.

Today, Judge Nervo has also declared that Linhart undergo a mandatory psychological evaluation as he could even be charged with a felony.

We’ll be back with more on the story as news becomes available, but in the meantime, we want to know what you think. When does being a fan go way too far?

Like the true rebel she is, Madonna says she’s not worried about the wacko stalker whom cops have busted twice in recent days. Although the man vows to keep showing up at her door, she said she’ll be about her business as usual.
