24 Turbulent Hours For Trump’s Children:

The Trump kids aren’t alright.

As the campaign enters its final stretch, some of Donald Trump’s children are showing signs of impatience and struggling to stay on message.

In the past 24 hours, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have cut off interviews when pressed for answers on tough questions. Trump Jr. strayed from the campaign’s talking point about the Republican nominee’s tax returns — that they’ll be released once an IRS audit concludes — when he said unveiling the documents would “detract” from his father’s message.
And Trump Jr. caused a firestorm when, during a Thursday interview with a Philadelphia radio station, he raised the specter of the Holocaust by saying if Republicans acted like Hillary Clinton, the media would be “warming up the gas chamber.” The campaign later said Trump Jr. was referring to capital punishment, though the Clinton campaign quickly seized on the remarks.

Eager customers joined long lines in cities like Sydney and Hong Kong on Friday as the new models went on sale, more than a week after they were unveiled.

Apple (AAPL, Tech30) is releasing the phones, which are water resistant and feature beefed-up cameras, in more than 25 countries around the world. But people who haven’t reserved one in advance won’t be able to be too picky about the color.

They’ll be available at Apple stores, carriers and retail partners. Many locations planned to open their doors an hour early to accommodate the anticipated demand.

Twelve-year-old singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal was an early front-runner, and she was crowned the winner Wednesday.
VanderWaal sobbed as her name was announced, and judge Howie Mandel, who granted her entrance into the competition via the golden buzzer, rushed to the stage to hug her.
“You are on your way,” Mandel told her. “I love you, you are so special.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Michelle Obama had some fun in a taped segment that aired Wednesday on DeGeneres’s talk show.
The pair hit up CVS to grab some items to prep the first lady for life after the White House.
Obama appeared set on actually shopping, while DeGeneres played the trip for laughs — teasing customers and insisting on opening a box of wine.

“You are not a good person to shop with,” joked Obama, who will vacate the White House when her husband’s term expires in January.

U.S. Formally Recalls Samsung Galaxy Note 7:

Federal consumer safety regulators on Thursday formally recalled 1 million Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones after dozens of users reported the device caught fire while charging.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission told customers to “immediately stop using and power down” the device.

Samsung (SSNLF) said on September 2 that it would stop selling Galaxy Note 7s. The company has received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the U.S., including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage from fires, the CPSC said.

The federal agency says Note 7 users can get a free replacement from Samsung, their wireless carrier or the retail outlet where the bought the phone. The new Note 7 will be in most stores no later than Sept. 21, Samsung said Thursday.
