It was recently announced that John Gray, associate pastor at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, TX, will be joining the programming lineup of Oprah Winfrey’s network.

An eight-episode order of “The Book of John,” the working title of his weekly one-hour docuseries, is expected to bring a “blend of humor and heart” to OWN.

With his comedic and unique style, Gray has won over hearts worldwide through compelling sermons that unite the body of Christ and present the gospel effectively. The new OWN series will take viewers deeper into the life of the esteemed preacher.

“Pastor Gray’s unique blend of humor and heart will make for a great series,” said Erik Logan, president of OWN. “We are excited for him to join our Saturday night family and thrilled to order new episodes from the Peete’s and Sweetie Pie’s.”

Early next year, the show will be seen on Saturday nights, along with “For Peete’s Sake,” which has been renewed for eight additional episodes, and “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” brought on for 13 more episodes.
