Mexican officials confirmed on Wednesday that Jesus Alfredo Guzman, the 29-year-old son of jailed notorious drug lord, ‘El Chapo,’ was kidnapped.
According to CNN, Guzman was eating at a popular restaurant on resort grounds in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Monday when a group of men entered the restaurant, and separated men and women.
The group exited, taking a total of six men with them. Authorities believe the ambush was a retaliation effort on the Guzman family by a rival drug cartel.
CNN reports that out of the six men taken, four have been identified including Guzman: Juan Daniel Calva Tapia, 53, Josias Nahujali Rabago Borbolla, 35 and Víctor Galvan Ureña, 46.
