The Democratic race for president gets testy ahead of the New York primary as candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders question each others credentials. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

Sparks flew Wednesday between Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, with both raising questions about who is qualified to hold the office of commander-in-chief, according to Reuters.

The bitter rhetoric came a day after Clinton’s crushing loss to Sanders in the Wisconsin primary, where he collected more delegates in the race for the White House. The language also intensified as they inch closer to the New York primary on April 19.

From Reuters:

General Electric Co’s chief executive joined Hillary Clinton’s campaign on Thursday in questioning Bernie Sanders’ anti-corporate agenda, while the populist Democratic White House contender pushed his accusations that Clinton is too close to big business.

Sanders hit back at the Clinton camp for coming after him in “some kind of really uncalled-for way” and questioned the Democratic front-runner’s own fitness for the Oval Office, particularly over her support for the Iraq war and money she raised from Wall Street.

“Are you qualified to be president of the United States when you’re raising millions of dollars from Wall Street, an entity whose greed, recklessness and illegal behavior helped destroy our economy?” the U.S. senator from Vermont said at a news conference in Pennsylvania.

The candidates will meet Thursday for a debate in New York City, which will be hosted by CNN and NY1.
