Justice Antonin Scalia To Lie In Repose At Supreme Court
Justice Antonin Scalia will lie in repose in the Supreme Court’s Great Hall today in the first of two days of public mourning over the late associate justice, who died unexpectedly over the weekend.
The casket carrying Scalia is set to arrive at the Court by 9:30 a.m. this morning and will be carried into the Court’s Great Hall by Court police, who will serve as pallbearers. Former clerks to the justice will serve as honorary pallbearers. A private ceremony will then be held in the Court prior to opening to the public from 10:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are set to pay their respects at the Court at some point today.
