Standing in the doorway of his Charlotte home, Spencer LeGrande told Channel 2 Action that he doesn’t harbor any hate, but that Bishop Eddie Long knows what really happened.

LeGrande spoke for the first time Wednesday about the accusations facing Long who has been accused of coercing teenage church members into sex. LeGrande is the fourth person to file a lawsuit against Long.

“I have no hate for anyone because God doesn’t produce hate,” LeGrande said. “I pray for everyone especially bishop, especially bishop because he knows the truth. He knows the truth.”

LeGrande, a member of New Birth Charlotte, said in a lawsuit filed Friday in DeKalb County, Ga., he was 17 when he engaged in sexual activities with Long while the two vacationed in Kenya. New Birth Charlotte is a 10,000-member congregation in Huntersville. LeGrande and his mother were among the founding members of the satellite church, LeGrande’s attorney B.J. Bernstein said. LeGrande alleges in once incident Long gave him an Ambien sleeping pill along with a long hug, kissing and rubbing.

LeGrande told Action 2 that he told his family and a few friends, including a police officer, about the sexual relationship, but he didn’t decide to come forward until he heard about the other accusations. He said that in the time since he filed the suit, he has “been free.”

“Once God’s time is ready for it to expose everything it’s going to happen, and I just … want people to know to keep praying,” he said. “Keep praying for our strength and for us getting through this.”
