The general population of teens and young adults view failure to recycle as more immoral than viewing porn.

Just 16% of teens and young adults said they talk about porn being a bad thing when talking with their friends about it.

That is just one compelling statistic uncovered in an exhaustive survey titled The Porn Phenomenon, revealed in New York City today.

The survey, conducted by the Barna Group, also discovered 73% of those of the same age who use Covenant Eyes, an Internet accountability and filtering system, talk about porn being wrong.

“What’s surprising isn’t just how people are talking about porn, but how they’re defining it,” said Ron DeHaas, founder and president of Covenant Eyes.

The Barna report shows just 11% of adults believe chatting or texting about sexual acts with someone they don’t know is pornographic. But 75% of adults using Covenant Eyes believe it is pornographic.

The report shows nearly half of all 13 to 24 year olds are indifferent toward porn, believing it is neither good nor bad. Roughly same number of that group (49%) says they view pornography at least once a month. Covenant Eyes users of the same ages say they view it about half as much (26%).
