Cincinnati city officials are hoping to do a better job in awarding contracts to minorities.

They’re sending new hiring goals to better represent the city’s diversity, after a report found dozens of black and women-owned businesses were being left out.

Plans call for dedicating 30% of construction and professional services jobs to those businesses, and helping them enter the bid process.
